Villani Landshapers Recognized By Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) As A Best Snow & Ice Company To Work For 2022

The annual Snow & Ice Awards hosted by Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) provides its members the opportunity to showcase their company’s professionalism and commitment to creating a culture that honors their employees’ hard work and dedication.

It's also an opportunity for those in the industry to see the latest technology, newest equipment and attend workshops and keynote presentations on all sorts of innovative topics related to snow and ice.

This year's symposium was held at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, right down the road from our offices in Menomonee Falls. The focus of this event for our leadership team in attendance was education, learning best practices in all sorts of industry niche topics including sales, recruiting, operations, forecasting and team building.

SIMA mirrored their top work place category after popular “Best Places to Work” awards in other industries. Companies are judged on their commitment to offering programs that promote employee engagement, professional development, effective management, team dynamics and trust in leadership.

Jake Orvis, who's been involved in the Villani Landshapers' snow program as an operator and zone leader while also handling estimating, planning, and forecasting, offered a snapshot of the relationship we have with SIMA- and why Villani continually prepares for snow season- all year round.

"Villani’s involvement with SIMA is important as it offers continuous training and support on all levels of the snow business. This includes everything from sales and recruitment, to training the crews on how to work safe, smart and efficient. Participating in this week’s symposium is expanding our knowledge about current topics impacting most companies, such as labor shortage, supply chain problems, and rising costs. Going to a Snow Symposium in summer shows we thinksnow 365 days a year. We're always trying to train our staff to better serve our clients."

Our Mission is passionately teaching our team to serve our clients and community. Our attendance at these types of events with an emphasis on the winter season directly supports that mission and our focus on training, safety and effective planning.

Paul Villani, Design Build Sales, accepted the award at the symposium. He was joined by other members of our leadership team including: Adam Bruno (Sales & Client Satisfaction) Sheila Paquet (Human Resources) and Chris Scott (Landscape Operations) who were there to participate in a day-long series of educational classes and networking as well as to take in the expo floor which featured new snow and ice removal equipment, vehicles, and booths set up by partner organizations.

Paul went on to say "Having the opportunity for some of our team members from all aspects of the business leadership (marketing, sales, production, human resources, operations) get a chance to educate and continually improve ourselves in snow and ice management really helps foster the great relationship we have with SIMA."

In the landscaping industry, which has become a year-round operation, great relationships are where everything begins.
