Giving Back and Being Part of Something Bigger

As we approach the end of the year, many of us take a moment to reflect on the people, causes, and organizations that have made an impact in our lives. This December, we wanted to share some of the groups that hold a special place in our heart—those we support through donations and also those Villani is proud to be a part of.

For many, donating to charity is a way to support causes that make a tangible difference. We are so proud that Kids Matter, Inc found us a few years ago. Their mission is to help abused and neglected children find a way to heal and thrive in the world. They support foster and kinship children and offer the resources to help prevent further child abuse.

For the last 3 years, we have put up an angel tree where our employees pick out a few kids to buy Christmas gifts for, because every child deserves to open a Christmas gift and feel the holiday cheer. It has been something our employees look forward to every year. The best part is receiving “thank you” notes from families and children who were grateful for their present.

Another organization we were happy to support is Milwaukee Rescue Mission. An organization that helps provide food, shelter, life-changing care and resources for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Their mission is “Sharing God’s love by caring for those who are poor in body, mind and spirit, to see lives transformed through Christ to hope, joy and lasting productivity”. 1 in 4 people in Milwaukee are living in poverty, 1,000 people don’t have a place to call home and 35% of Milwaukee’s children are living below the poverty line. Help be part of the solution and consider donating to the cause

Another special organization we donate to every year is Mr. Bob’s Under the bridge. They provide necessities to those in need in Milwaukee. Their mission “fosters a community of compassion and friendship by providing basic necessities such as clothing and hygiene products to the homeless, those who need support, and the surrounding Milwaukee community”. We hold a coat drive, and our employees donate coats and winter items, new or gently used to those who need it.

In addition to donating, being a part of organizations that align with our values can bring about a sense of community and shared purpose. Here are a few groups that Villani Landshapers proudly belong to:

  • Metropolitan Builders Assoc (MBA)

  • Community Associations Inc (CAI)

  • North Shore Chamber of Commerce

  • Greater MF Chamber of Commerce

  • Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce (MMAC)

  • Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Assoc (WLCA)

  • Associated Builders & Contractors of WI (ABC-WI)

  • Step Beyond Green to Healthy

  • American Society of Landscape Architects

  • American Heart Assoc/Hard Hats w/Heart

  • National Assoc of Landscape Professionals (NALP)

At Villani Landshapers, we believe that giving back and aligning ourselves with like-minded organizations not only helps those in need but also fosters a sense of community and purpose within our team. As we reflect on the year, we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact and look forward to continuing these efforts in the years to come.
